2021 Export Market Development Grant Closes 28th February 2022

Don’t miss the boat – Applications for the 2021 Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) are closing on the 28th February 2022. If you are an Australian company looking to grow your exports in overseas markets then read on to learn more about how this business grant can help you. 


What is the EMDG program?

The EMDG scheme provides financial assistance to encourage Australian exporters to develop overseas markets for their goods and/or services. Each year it supports around 4,000 small to medium enterprises (SMEs). The outgoing 2021 grant program will reimburse up to 50% of eligible promotional activities associated with exporting, with a maximum grant amount of $150,000.

  • Overseas Representation
  • Marketing Consultants
  • Travel Costs Associated with International Marketing Visits
  • International Trade Fairs & Seminars
  • Promotional Literature & Advertising
  • Free Sample Costs
  • Intellectual Property Protection 


Am I Eligible?

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Annual 2021 income of not more than AUD $50 million
  • Minimum $15,000 expenditure on eligible exporting or promotional activities
  • Plan to export or have exported eligible goods, services, or intellectual property know-how

Applications for the 2021 EMDG program closed for self-lodgements on 30th November 2021. However, you can still make a claim with ABA Legal Group, as QIP consultants until 28 February 2022.
