Meet Renee, the Head of R&D Technical at ABA Legal Group. With over 12 years of industry experience, Renee brings with her an impressive breadth of knowledge and is the go-to girl for anything associated with the Australian R&D Tax Incentive.
She began her career as a successful scientific researcher in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, broadening her highly technical skillset before she transitioned into the R&D advisory space, sparking a new interest.
Combining her experience from both disciplines, Renee’s blended career now provides her with profound insight and understanding of complex R&D technical and legal concepts to assist companies to identify eligible R&D activities and expenditure.
Throughout her time as a leader and specialist in the Australian R&D Tax Incentive space, Renee has assisted companies across all industries to access benefits and has worked closely with companies on R&D Tax governance and risk management frameworks, bringing a strong commercial approach to the R&D claim process.
Having previously been a key player in the Australian R&D Tax Incentive team at global Big 4 professional services firm, KPMG, Renee has successfully partnered with and managed a portfolio of large Australian and multinational clients. Pulling from these previous experiences, Renee now uses her abundant technical and advisory skillset to assist ABA clients.
As part of her role at ABA, Renee helps simplify complex reporting and claims processes for clients, allowing them to benefit from their claimable expenditure and ultimately invest more money back into their business.
“I love helping innovative companies to take advantage of government support as they embark on their R&D journey.”
Renee is committed to helping our clients navigate through their R&D claims from assessing their eligibility, to completing statutory audits, ensuring that she is alongside them every step of the way.
When she is not busy working, you can find Renee either cooking up a storm in the kitchen, nestled with a good book at home, or outside enjoying the sunshine with her husband and dogs.
